Psychology Today has a fascinating article up on why straight guys have sex with other men. I've said it repeatedly on the site, but if it weren't for straight guys I wouldn't have had as much sex when I was younger. I'd say a good 50% of my experiences have been with straight guys. Most of my closest friends have been straight guys and I'd say I had sex with 99.9% of them.

Jerame is always amazed at my ability to flirt with a straight guy and get him to flirt back. Once when we were having drinks at a straight sports bar with friends, Jerame regaled the table with tales of my exploits and how straight guys will respond to me, but no one believed him. I'm usually able to tell within a few minutes if the guy would go to bed with me and as the waiter left, I told them that he was do-able. They insisted I demonstrate. By the end of the evening, he'd given me free drinks, stopped checking on them altogether unless I ordered for them, and had bought me a pack of cigarettes. What can I say? I have a gift.

Many of my friends have always said that those guys weren't actually "straight" and argued that they were at least a little gay. I disagreed, but no one ever seemed to really grock what I was telling them. The orientation and gender of the person they were fucking didn't matter. What mattered was that they were getting off. Period. It was fun and enjoyable and there were no strings or romantic involvement. At best, it was a fuck buddy arrangement - but mostly close friends who'd occasionally get off together when bored or horny.

Turns out, I was right all along. After going into a lengthy description of the differences between sexual identity and orientation, sexual preferences, sexual fantasies, and sexual behavior, the author gets to the heart of the matter. For straight men who have sex with men, same-sex encounters aren't about romance or sexual attraction and desire, but about sexual and physiological arousal-"getting off" with another who's male and accessible. They don't sexually desire or get aroused by looking at other men, only by the sexual act. But if they don't actively desire other men, how do they get to the point of having sex with them? These men typically want to bond with and get affection from other men. Their behavior may reflect a desire to experiment, to engage in something that's taboo, or to express inner psychological conflicts involving their sexual feelings and desires that have nothing to do with having a gay or bisexual identity.

Straight men who have sex with men do so for a variety of reasons. Some have been sexually abused and are compulsively reenacting childhood sexual trauma by male perpetrators; some find sexual release with another man more accessible; some have sex with men because it's easier and requires fewer social skills than those required to have sex with women; some are "gay for pay" and get financial rewards; some like the attention they receive from other men; some like anal sex, which they're otherwise too ashamed to talk about or engage in with their female partners.

Personally, I think the biggest reason is in the second paragraph. In my experience, most of the guys just like the extra attention they can get from a gay man. As one said to me once, "If the gay dude is hitting on me and thinks I'm hot, then I know it's true. Y'all have good taste. Most gay guys look better than straight guys." It's a flattery thing. Combine that with the opportunity to get their rocks off and it's win-win in their world.

No matter the reason, I'm glad they do occasionally. Now if we could just move everyone past the labels to the heart of the matter: Does it feel good and not hurt anyone? If so, go for it.

How a 'model' employee got away with outsourcing his software job to China

How a 'model' employee got away with outsourcing his software job to China ... le7409256/

Bob was his company’s best software developer, got glowing performance reviews and earned more than $250,000 a year.

Then one day last spring, Bob’s employer, an American infrastructure company, thought its computer network had been attacked by a virus.

The ensuing forensic probe revealed that Bob’s software code had in fact been the handiwork of a Chinese subcontractor.

Bob was paying a Chinese firm about $50,000 a year to do his work, then spent the day surfing the web, watching cat videos and updating his Facebook page.

“This particular case was pretty unique,” computer security investigator Andrew Valentine, who helped uncover Bob’s scheme, said in an e-mail to The Globe and Mail. “We thought it was actually pretty clever.”

Mr. Valentine made Bob’s tale public in a blog post on Monday and it has since been the talk of tech websites.

“While the large-scale data breaches make the headlines and are widely discussed among security professionals, often the small and unknown cases are the ones that are remembered as being the most interesting,” Mr. Valentine wrote in his blog.

He said the creative but deceitful programmer, whom he called by the pseudonym “Bob,” was a family man and long-time employee in his 40s, “inoffensive and quiet. Someone you wouldn’t look at twice in an elevator.”

Mr. Valentine, who works for the global communications company Verizon, wouldn’t identify Bob’s employer except to say that it was a private “critical infrastructure company” in the United States.

For the past two years, the firm had increasingly been getting employees to telecommute or work from home.

To connect remotely to the company computer system, staffers needed a personal identification number, which changed at regular intervals. Employees were issued security tokens, small devices that updated them with the latest generated PIN.

Last spring, the company grew concerned about computer security breaches and asked its IT department to inspect more closely its remote-access logs, looking for unusual patterns of activity.

To their surprise, they saw that someone connected into their network every day from Shenyang, a city in the historical Manchurian north of China, near the Korean peninsula.

More interestingly, the Chinese intruder was logged in using Bob’s PIN and credentials, “yet the employee is right there, sitting at his desk, staring into his monitor,” Mr. Valentine wrote.

“Based on what information they had obtained, the company initially suspected some kind of unknown malware that was able [to] route traffic from a trusted internal connection to China, and then back. This was the only way they could intellectually resolve the authentication issue. What other explanation could there be?”

Verizon investigators were contacted. They inspected Bob’s workstation, trying to find whether he had unintentionally downloaded a virus.

Instead, the cyber-sleuths discovered hundreds of invoices from a software developer in Shenyang.

The investigation revealed that Bob had outsourced his job. To get around the changing PINs, he couriered his security tokens to the Shenyang subcontractor.

It wasn’t clear how long Bob’s scheme had been running because log records only dated back to six months.

While Bob physically reported to the company that hired Verizon to investigate him, he also padded his income as a contract workers for other local firms, for which he also relied on his Chinese outsourcing arrangement.

Looking at his web browsing history, investigators found that Bob spent his workday checking sites such as Reddit, Ebay, Facebook and LinkedIn and watching cat videos. Then he would type an e-mail at the end of the day to update management about his “work” and left at 5 p.m.

Bob was fired for violating internal company police, Mr. Valentine said in his e-mail to The Globe and Mail.

By all account, the Chinese contractor did an excellent job and until then it reflected well on Bob.

“His code was clean, well-written, and submitted in a timely fashion,” Mr. Valentine noted. “Quarter after quarter, his performance review noted him as the best developer in the building.”

Police Shoot, Kill Dog When Going To A Home By Mistake

Police Shoot, Kill Dog When Going To A Home By Mistake
January 15, 2013 11:14 PM

ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) – An Adams County man is in shock after he says deputies shot and killed his dog.

Jeff Fisher said deputies went to his house by mistake. He said when they forced their way through the door his dog Ziggy ran outside and an Adams County Sheriff’s deputy shot and killed him.

“(He went to the door) to see who it was and the police officer shot him three times,” Fisher said. “They killed my dog for no reason.”

Fisher said Ziggy was his best friend and can’t believe he’s gone.

“I called the dog, he turned to come back to me and the police officer opened fire,” said Fisher.

Ziggy was an 8-year-old Blue Healer/Border Collie mix.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to the address on reports of a business alarm going off.

Fisher said he wants that deputy to be held accountable.

“I’m on the ground crying hysterically and the police officer says, ‘You need to calm down, you can get a new dog,’” said Fisher.

Death Platforms Appear In Sky
Tuesday, January 15, 2013 10:52

While the world is wrestling with the ethics of drone warfare, giant, featureless rectangles are appearing in the sky. The ominous platforms are completely silent and some have hovered over towns. Below their hovering bulk people quake with fear and awe.

The technology has the ability to be armed. If they are advanced stealth drones, the original drones were deployed only to track movement on the ground. Now many are being armed with missiles. Black projects do not have to remain defenseless.

The SR-71 was once a black project. It remained a spy plane, but its successor technologies from Lockheed and Boeing were the stealth fighter and bomber, respectively. Both are armed to the teeth.

And the Research Says....

Five years of meta research concludes: Danes are not racists, xenophobes or Islamophobes, we have "rational concerns"

The conclusions are based by Bech and Necef on the most relentless scientific tool you can use against other researchers: the classical source criticism. The 67-year-old Henning Bech and the 60-year-old Mehmet Ümit Necef thoroughly analyzed more than twenty Danish researchers' references, qoutes and statistics. They show that there is a clear tendency to confuse citizens' rational concerns "with racism, or so-called "new racism".

What I have said all along between all the name calling. It is clear that Western culture is getting the short end of the stick.

The researchers are not concerned that their scientific errors will be discovered, since they are preaching to the saved. They all have this politically correct view and agree that Denmark has become a racist country."

Like I said before, the concerns are valid and this is the crap that is pushed and believed by whining bastards everywhere, who cannot condemn their own country and citizens fast enough. How many resemble that remark right here on Amkon?

The BinnyBoyz live!

What are we to make of this drama? Hopefully the Eunarch will drive by to connect it to the sandy hooker who murdered the kindergartners.

Several Western hostages reported killed in Algeria siege operation

By Alastair Jamieson, NBC News

Western hostages being held by Islamist militants at a gas plant in Algeria were feared to have been killed with reports of several casualties from a raid by Algerian forces Thursday.

The gas plant near In Amenas, Algeria.

An “ongoing operation” was under way at the remote desert facility where dozens of workers – including three Americans – were being held, Britain’s Foreign Office said. It gave no further details.

Unconfirmed reports from local sources cited by Reuters and The Associated Press said hostages and militants had been killed in the operation.

Earlier, some of those being held reportedly escaped from the plant, near In Amenas, close to the Libya border.

U.S. officials could not confirm nor deny any of the reports, saying information on the situation was "murky".

An Ireland government spokesman said Thursday that an Irish national held at the In Amenas gas plant had “made contact with his family and is understood to be safe and well, and no longer a hostage.”

Islamists stormed the natural gas pumping site and workers' housing before dawn on Wednesday and claimed to have seized 41 foreign workers - from countries including the United States, France, Ireland, Britain, Japan and Norway – and local employees.

The Associated Press, citing claims from militants, said the site was attacked on Thursday morning by Algerian military helicopters. It reported:

Islamist militants have told a Mauritanian news outlet that Algerian military helicopters strafed the gas complex where they are holding hostages, killing 35 of the foreigners and 15 of the kidnappers.

The spokesman for the Masked Brigade, which had earlier claimed responsibility for the assault Wednesday on the gas complex deep in the Sahara desert, said Thursday that Abou El Baraa, the leader of the kidnappers, was also killed in the helicopter attack.

The information came from the Nouakchott Information Agency, which has often carried reports from al-Qaida-linked extremist groups.

A local resident near the plant told Reuters the Algerian military had opened fire, and that “many people” were killed:

The resident, who asked not to be identified, said there were many bodies at the scene. He did not give firm numbers of the dead or say whether they were kidnappers, hostages or both.

French wire service Agence France Press also said an Algerian helicopter was attacking the facility.

Twenty hostages of an Algerian militant group with ties to al Qaeda in a standoff with the Algerian Army are reported to have escaped Thursday. Over 41 hostages of several nationalities, including Americans, were being held in a BP gas facility. NBC's Michelle Kosinski reports.

Faycal Metaqui, a journalist at Algerian newspaper El Watan, told French news channel BFM there was “much confusion” over information from the hostage site.

He said he was unable to confirm with authorities the earlier reports that some hostages had escaped.

"Sadly, there have been some reports of casualties but we are still lacking any confirmed or reliable information," said a statement from oil giant BP, which is a joint owner of the plant.

"This is a dangerous and rapidly developing situation," U.K. Foreign Secretary William Hague told reporters in Sydney Thursday.

The crisis – one of the biggest international hostage incidents in decades – opened an international front in the civil war in neighboring Mali after French troops launched an offensive against Islamist rebels linked to al-Qaida in that country.

The group that has claimed responsibility for the Islamists' raid is said to be led by a jihadist called Mokhtar Belmokhtar, a cigarette smuggler whose nicknames range from "The Uncatchable" and "Mister Marlboro."

The militants have demanded an end to the French military campaign in Mali, where hundreds of French paratroopers and marines are launching a ground offensive against rebels a week after Paris began firing on militants from the air.

In France, President Francois Hollande declined to give any further information about the Algerian operations.

“The best is to say the least,” he said. “What counts is to allow the Algerians to be able to liberate [the hostages]."

Nancy Ing, Jim Miklaszewski and Courtney Kube, NBC News, contributed to this report.

Why Hitler was a dumbass... for all the Jews out there in Prideland

He hated Jews as a race, which is stupid..... while never taking into consideration the fact that there may lie a much deeper fire from whence the "anti-Semitic" truth emanates from.

First, some basic questions:

If Orthodox Judaism rejects Jesus as the true messiah, wouldn't that still make the Jews slaves under the rule of a tyrant?

The reason I ask that is because of this question:

And why also does there even exist a messiah concept in Judaism if Moses had already supposedly saved them from slavery?

Unless Israel itself, as a religious concept, is the prison.
